My Story: Bradley L. Aylor PT., MD
For as long as I remember I've had a passion for health and the human body. Though being a medical physician was never an anticipated goal of mine early on, it is something that I evolved into, and truly love because it gives me the opportunity of offering true health and wellness.
I started my career as a physical therapist, drawn into the field by the hands on approach, I also graduated with a degree in exercise physiology to better understand and incorporate the physiological parameters of optimal health, fitness, and function. It was after practicing as a physical therapist for a number of years that I became aware that I was restricted in what I wanted to offer patients.
I then pursued medicine with the original intent of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. During my training I had the opportunity of experiencing many fields of medicine that were all fascinating. I however chose the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation in that it aligned with my long term goals of improving an individual's functional capabilities and quality of life, more so than any other field.
I've always had a passion for knowledge and the desire to answer the questions of why. This has led me to get additional board certifications through the American Board of Medical Specialties in physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain medicine, and sports medicine, as well as integrative medicine through the American Board of Physician's Specialties. I've also obtained certification through the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine, American Board of Obesity Medicine, and a certified practitioner with the Institute of Functional Medicine, along with advanced study in hormone replacement and medical acupuncture.
This has been a long and exciting journey that continues to lead me with a more comprehensive set of skills and knowledge to address the goal of optimal health.
My Goals For You
To maintain or regain a high quality of life and function with passion, vitality, and enthusiasm now and for your future. We do this by addressing: Issues and limitations of mobility and pain. Restoring or optimizing your cognitive function, such as memory. Helping to maintain or restore your sexuality and intimacy, as well as your vitality of life.
I've Been There
I have had the opportunity of experiencing first hand many of the symptoms and injuries that my patients are going through. This includes injuries in sports and college athletics. The most significant injury was when I was in a head on motor vehicle accident, shattering both femurs, the right lower leg, and crushing my ankle, 7 rib fractures and was on a ventilator in the ICU for about 10 days. I still have nerve damage and am limited in mobility related to the injuries and arthritis. This however, has given me the opportunity of identifying treatments such as stem cells and PRP to improve and restore my function.
